The Challenge

This project, completed individually within a 14-day deadline, was both a technical and design challenge. It involved creating a complete narrative experience from the ground up while learning a new engine, Godot (GDScript).

The main goal was to rigorously define the project's scope to create a polished, story-driven game.

Building a Terrifying Narrative
(Show, Don't Tell!)

Instead of using heavy exposition, I developed the narrative through dialogue and scripted in-game events. Working within strict constraints, I controlled the flow of information to build psychological tension. By pacing dialogue and triggering key gameplay events, I guided the player step by step toward a major plot twist, without explicitly revealing the threat until the end.

Why I Forced Players to Hack Terminals...

To keep tension balanced and avoid player fatigue, I created two custom interaction systems, such as terminal hacking.

Instead of random interruptions, these mini-games follow a clear pacing plan that challenges players in new ways. This approach mixes reading with active gameplay to help players stay engaged.

With Godot’s node hierarchy, I built a modular state controller that keeps text updates in sync with changes in the game’s atmosphere.

The simple and smooth interface helps players focus by reducing distractions. This way, each gameplay loop supports the psychological horror feel without getting in the way.
