The Challenge
I built this fast-paced, vertical-descending platformer on my own in just 36 hours. By focusing only on the essentials, I left out extra features to make sure the gameplay felt polished and responsive.
With the deadline set, I put all my energy into making the game feel great to play.
As a result, it became the most-played title in the week after the event.

Why Real-Time Leaderboards Make Games ADDICTIVE!
I created a dynamic Point System to motivate players. Instead of a simple progression, the scoring system acts as a risk-reward tool that pushes players to go faster, even if it means they might lose.
To keep players engaged, I also set up and improved an online leaderboard that updates in real time.

I Animated an ENTIRE Game on a TINY Sprite Budget!
I used Aseprite to design and animate the character and enemies while working with a tight sprite-sheet budget. Each frame clearly shows acceleration, falling states, and hurtboxes, so players can quickly understand what is happening. By making the visuals easy to read, the asset pipeline supports fast-paced gameplay, allowing players to spot hazards and adjust their movements accurately.
